Bodegas la SierraThe origins of Bodegas Fernando Castro date back to 1850, when its founder started his career in the world of viticulture. Since then, this activity has passed from father to son and has given rise to the most traditional family winery of its region.

A wine-producing company which has learned to adapt to both the new times and technologies, whilst keeping the expertise and essence of the traditions passed down from generation to generation.

New generations and new markets have received the Bodegas Fernando Castro wines, which have already conquered the palates of the great majority of the public. Consumers from 46 European countries, as well as other countries such as the USA, Japan or Canada all enjoy the great variety of the Castro wines, each with its own personality and taste.

The winery also boasts qualified oenological staff who, on a daily basis, supervise the evolution of the wines before they enter the wine cellar. At Bodegas Fernando Castro we know that wine is made from the stock, and that special care and attention must therefore be given to it. That is why we pamper and take care of our raw material to the maximum.

Tasting: Picota violáceo de buena capa. Nariz de buena intensidad bastante frutosa (sobre todo recuerdos a fruta roja) alguna nota mentolada y un fondo de chocolate con leche. En boca resulta fresco, con buena acidez y buen recorrido. Taninos firmes, dulces y carnosos.
Best served with: indicado para carnes rojas, carnes a la brasa y queso semicurado.
Serving Temperature: 16-18°C

FINCA LAS VIRTUDES - Tempranillo

Volatile acidity: 0.45 – 0.50 gr/l

Tasting: Intense cherry colour with raspberry and redcurrant aroma. Well balanced and tasty.
Best served with: Ideal for pasta and poultry.

FINCA LAS VIRTUDES - Sauvignon blanco

Tasting: Pale yellow colour. Quite complex aroma with intense ripen fruits and honey hints. In the mouth it is soft, full and sweet.
Best served with: any type of seafood, soft cheeses and even desserts.
Serving Temperature: 8 - 10º C

FINCA LAS VIRTUDES - Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting: Cherry colour. Light aroma of wild berries. A very smooth and well-balanced wine.
Best served with: To enjoy with any kind of meat and cheese.

Tasting: Garnet red colour. Intense aroma of fresh fruit with spiced hints and some floral notes. Well-structured in mouth, fruity and long aftertaste.
Best served with: meat, poultry and soft cheese
Serving temperature: 14 – 15 ºC

RAÍCES - Rosado

Tasting:Pale strawberry colour. Light aroma of red fruits. Fresh, lightly bitter, well balanced.
Best served with: Rice courses, pasta, cold-cuts, smoked meat and salads.
Serving Temperature: 10 - 12º C

   

RAÍCES - Crianza

Ageing period: 6 months in American oak barrels.
Tasting: Nice ruby colour, clear and bright. Intense aroma, with a shade of spices. Well structured in the mouth and balanced aftertaste.
Best served with: Grilled and roasted meat
Serving Temperature: 16 - 18º C.

RAÍCES - Gran Reserva

D.O.: DO Valdepeñas

Ageing period: 12 months in American oak barrels and a minimum of 12 months bottled.
Tasting note: A wine with a wide structure. The mouth is full-bodied and has a good balance between oak and fruit flavours. It possesses an extremely fine aroma and flavour.
Matching: Salads, roast meat and smoked foods.
Temperature: Serve at 16 - 18 ºC previously decanted.

   

RAÍCES - Tempranillo

Tasting note: This is a traditional Valdepeñas red wine, with a very intense aroma and an elegant and prolonged finish.
Matching: Perfect with every kind of red meat, even spiced, pasta, poultry, semi-hard cheese, cold meats and Iberian ham.
Temperature: Serve at 16 - 18 ºC.

FINCA EL VISO - Blanco
