Els Guiamets

The Celler Agrícola Els Guiamets was founded in 1913. At this present time is constituted by 42 associated with 150 hac. of vineyards. The production or our wines is combined by traditional methods and high technology, but always keeping the touch of the artisan work.

The first point of control is made at the vineyard days before the harvest. Different controls of quality and maturity are made to choose the best of the hole production. The pick up is made manually, because of the small size o the vineyards as well as the orographic characteristics, makes very difficult to do it with the use of machinery.


The fermentation is made in stainless steal tanks. The temperature on each tank is controlled automatically with the use of a modern refrigeration system.
Some part of the wine is for the production of young wines, and the wine obtained form the best quality vineyards is used to produce the "Crianza" wines.


Most of the vineyards are old. The wine has very low production, and a characteristic that defines the Montsant wines that makes them so special.

LO METS TINTO 2009

Chardonay-MacabeoCariñena, red Garnacha, Tempranillo.

ELABORATION
Vinification for each grape type obtaining the best characteristics for each variety.

 

LO METS ROSADO 2010

Chardonay-MacabeoSyrah, Garnacha tinta.

ELABORATION:
Short term maceration and low temperature fermentation to obtain the best aromas of the wine.

 

 

TASTING NOTE
- SIGHT:
Deep cherry red with blueish tones.
- NOSE:
Intense red fruit aroma with a light and smooth lactic scent.
- TASTE:
Well structured wine, full of aromas and well balanced and matured tannings. Long presence in mouth.
TASTING NOTE
- SIGHT:
Pink cherry color, alive, clean and bright.
- NOSE:
Intense aroma, fresh with red fruits ans strawberries scent.
- TASTE:
In mouth fruity, soft and nice, with long lasting aroma and flavour.
   

LO METS BLANCO 2010

Temranillo MerlotGarnacha blanca.

ELABORATION
From a deep selection of the best vineyards of White Garnacha. The wine is fermented under low temperature to obtain a high expression of aromas.

 

GRAN METS TINTO SEMI-CRIANZA 2009

MerlotCabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo .

ELABORATION
Fermentation and temperature controlled for each grape type during 15 days at least. Wine ageinig takes place in french and american oak barrels during nine months.

 

TASTING NOTE
- SIGHT:
Light clean shiny golden colors.
-NOSE:
Fresh intense aroma, with scent of flowers and white fruits.
- TASTE:
Well structured, with nice intense fruit, well balanced acidity and expresive ending in mouth.
TASTING NOTE
- SIGHT:
Deep intense, cherry color.
- NOSE:
Red fruit, light toasted scent of quality oak, nice and elegant.
- TASTE:
Perfectly balanced with elegant smooth; aftertaste that lingers.
   

GRAN METS TINTO CRIANZA 2007

SyrahCabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo.

ELABORATION
Fermentation and temperature controlled for each grape type during 20 days at least. Wine ageing takes place in french (30) and american (70) oak barrels during a minimum of 12 months.

 

ISIS 2005/2006

Cabernet SauvignonSyrah, Cariñena y Garnacha negra.

ELABORATION
After a deep selection from the best vineyards of Black Garnacha and Cariñena, and from the top quality Syrah grapes. A controlled fermentation takes place for each grape type, with a minimum duration of 20 days. Wine ageing in brand new french and american oak barrels for 12 months.

 

TASTING NOTE
- SIGHT:
Deep cherry red with great color and some russet notes.
- NOSE:
Complex aroma, very fine and smooth with reminds to toasted with a brief and sweet touch of candy and vanilla. Chocolate background which slowly opens to show raisin jam and red ripen fruits.
- TASTE:
Very smooth and elegant. It offers taste of spices, candy and ripen fruits. Balanced, mature and rounded tanins. Deep and long aftertaste.
TASTING NOTE
- SIGHT:
Deep cherry color and violet sparks
- NOSE:
Complex aroma of wood ageing with mineral scents over a deep clean mature red fruit aroma.
- TASTE:
Well integrated in mouth, full bodied with mature taning; very expressive and complex.

VALL SELLADA 2009

Vall sellada Garnacha blanca.

ELABORATION
From a selection of old White Garnacha vines. The fermentation is made in brand new french Allier and american oak barrels during 4 months.

 

 

TASTING NOTE
- SIGHT:
Golden yellow, clean and shiny.
-NOSE:
Intense aroma, with mature tropicl fruit scents. Perfect integration among the toasted notes and fine oak..
- TASTE:
Deep intense in mouth, clean and elegant.
